Fred attended the Utah Bar Association Clarence Darrow ethics seminar. Fred was cornered right off the bat, by a Bar representative to make sure he was not going to be giving out any more of the one page fraud upon the court handouts. Fred replied, "No, I'm just here to attend the ethics seminar." The seminar was about Clarence Darrow's struggles as an attorney. At the end, the Bar's panel discussion concluded that the lawyers paramount responsibility was to the client. After the four years of pre-law college, three years of law school, passing of the Bar exam, years of practice, is this the best conclusion that their ethics seminar can come up with? The panel discussion was more than dissappointing. Fred's handout also had to do with unethical behavior of two attorneys and a judge, but yet he was unable to give them out. Go figure?
